The Jim & Olga Comstock Collection, donated to Booth Library in 1986, includes Pearl Buck books, including copies of her books in over 20 languages; a signed first edition of her book: "My Mother's House"; and original manuscripts.

Pearl Buck's parents were Presbyterian missionaries in China. Absalom Sydenstricker, Buck's father, was instrumental in many of the translations of the church's documents into Chinese, including a Chinese Bible. Booth Library Special Collections & Archives owns a bible that has been attributed to Absalom Sydenstricker. The bible is currently undergoing preservation and is not available for research. Library Staff are exploring ways to make this resource available in the future.
